The Chicken Came Before the Egg

At least in our case, for obvious reasons: We purchased the chicks in early Spring and found our first egg today. Unfortunately I hadn't finished their long-term residence yet, so we'll see how they adapt to their new home. It's fun :)

Pizza and Applesauce with Friends

60 quarts of applesauce isn't too bad when you have two 'saucers'!

Utopias and World Governments...

Should not be attempted. For a variety of reasons (especially in light of the Scriptures!), I doubt either could be successfully achieved. This isn't to say that unity cannot (or should not) be achieved, particularly on a national scale. But "global citizenship" and a "world government" sounds a bit too much like Babel to me (Genesis 11). I think it's in the best interest of man's earthly existence (esp. from God's perspective) to maintain national identities and welcome cultural differences (rather than lose cultural distinctions for the sake of so-called 'unity') . I'll leave the creation of the perfect world to God. Until that time comes, we (Christ followers) must continue delivering the Good News to this world, news of forgiveness and resurrection life found in Jesus Christ.
"For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come." -- Hebrews 13:14

Something New

I found an extra hour of time to try something new... posterous. Free time to use social media has been hard to find the last few months, and it doesn't appear like things will change anytime soon. The ease of posting on posterous has caught my eye, so here goes a new blog attempt. (Oh, I can't help but throw a picture up, too... one that makes me smile!)
